Police certificates and police checks A police certificate is a report of a person’s criminal history; a police check is the process of checking a person’s criminal history. The two terms are often used interchangeably in aged care. These checks help an organisation to protect and to minimise the risk, to the best of their ability, to vulnerable people.

To become an Aged Care Worker you are generally required to complete a qualification in individual support or undertake a traineeship. Complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) (CHC33015) at a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation.
